Who is Cornelia Palon? ORTHERA? AMELIA? AEILIA? CORNELIA?

In 1850 NY census  Cornelia Palon (Ames) {my great grandmother}
(Daughter-in-law of Adolphus Ames,Wife of Ira Daniel Ames,
Mother of Nancy Theo Ames, my grandmother)
is enumerated in August 1850 Oswego, NY as
Cornelia or Amelia Palon and the
Green County Wisconsin census Orthera Palon is
enumerated in October 1850. I know that the Orthera Palon
in 1850 Wisconsin is my Cornelia Palon because of
a newspaper article by Ruth Scoville her sister.

Exhibit 1.

From the Janesville Gazette, Janesville, Wisconsin May 6, 1893.
Ruth Scoville Palmer.

In my research I found a James Palon written in the corner of the
Bible page of my grandmother Nancy Theo Ames which said
James Palon died on 24 August 1887. ***Entry did not say where James Palon died.

Also found a James Palon in the 1850 census for Oswego, NY
Federal Census and the 1860,  and 1870 and 1880 Chicago Illinois
census. In the 1850 and  1860 Chicago, Cook, IL Federal Census
there is an Amelia Palon and Cornelia Palon.

Am not sure if this is the James Palon in my grandmother’s Bible.
I also received a document )NN Palon)  in the mail which
is not sourced so will
have to review this. (Exhibit 4)

Sure looks like Altheah FRENCH Scoville may have been
 Cornelia Palon’s mother.
Then who would Susan Palon be? Would Althea be divorced
 from James Palon?
Who was Mary Scoville in 1850 Wisconsin living with George Scoville?
Was Mary Scoville Althea’s sister? Don’t think so because the census
says Mary Scoville was born Kentucky. I have not found the marriage
records for George Scoville. This would be wonderful as It might clear
some of this up or only add confusion.

This 1850  NY Oswego County US census was enumer ated on
18 August 1850 in Osweo NY

Exhibit 2: The 1850 Wisconsin Green county US Federal Census with Orthera Palon.

In my research I found a James Palon written in the corner of the Bible page of my grandmother Nancy Theo Ames which said James Palon died on
24 August 1887. ***Entry did not say where James Palon died.

Also found a James Palon in the 1860 census for Chicago and 1870
 and 1880 Chicago Illinois census.

Exhibit 3

Am not sure if this is the James Palon in my grandmother’s Bible.
I also received a document in the mail which is not sourced so will
 have to review this.

(Exhibit 4) In this document it states Cornelia's name is Cornelia
Aeilia Palon and the mother is Althea FRENCH married to a
NN(no name) PALON.  On Cornelia's death certificate it faintly
says "Mother's maiden name FRENCH". I am in the process of
contacting the party who sent me the exhibit 4 above to
obtain his source.

Cornelia Palon Ames Death certificate.

Sure looks like Altheah FRENCH Scoville may have been
Cornelia Palon’s mother. Then who would Susan Palon be?
Would Althea be divorced from James Palon?
Would James Palon be the brother-in-law of
NN Palon who Althea was married to?
Who was Mary Scoville in 1850 Wisconsin
living with George Scoville?  Was Mary Scoville Althea’s sister?
Don’t think so because the census says Mary Scoville
 was born Kentucky.

I have not found the marriage records for George Scoville. This would be wonderful as It might clear some of this up or only add confusion.

******NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS AND ASSISTANCE WITH FUTURE RESEARCH ON CORNELIA.

FUTHER RESEARCH:
1. George Scoville marriages (Possibly married three times)
2. Birth or Church records for Althea FRENCH
3. Marriage records for Cornelia Palon Ames
4. More information on James Palon and his children and wife.
Possibly may find on a query or in Newberry Library in Chicago.
5. Find out who Mary J Scoville is in 1850 census
Green County Wisconsin US Federal Census.

Love Letters, Lies, Truth, Half Truths ?

Nancy Ames, twenty-one, was dressed beautifully on her wedding day. A broche with Lou’s picture graced her left shoulder. Full eyebrows, hazel eyes, and dark, brown curly hair piled on top of her head spilling over her forehead framed her oval face.  Lou described her as “prepossessing brunette, who dresses well”. Lou Hansen, twenty-five, wore a black silk suit, a top hat, and a diamond stickpin in his lapel. His salary was $ 90.00 a month and he owned a 1903 Oldsmobile, a well-to-do gentleman by any standards.
“I do,” said Lou, as he slipped the one-carat ruby ring, engraved with “Nancy 1906” on Nancy’s finger. Nancy placed a matching eighteen-carat gold ring inscribed “Ludwig 1906” on Lou’s finger.
They moved into a Queen Ann-style house, lavishly decorated in romantic and feminine décor with a green Persian rug in the center of the drawing room. Palm trees adorned the rooms. The wood, marble and brass were highly polished.
Blanche was born in 1908. The marriage deteriorated. They divorced in 1913. After the divorce, Lou publicly humiliated Nancy, accusing her of having an affair with a man named J.P. Glass during their marriage, publishing his accusations in the newspaper, with contents of letters Glass had sent to her. The publicity angered and embarrassed Nancy. Lou had accomplished his purpose. [1]
In 1915, Nancy married Charlie Worthing. They moved to Truro, Iowa, and lived a quiet life with Blanche and their daughter Grace.
Did my grandmother, Nancy and J.P. Glass have an affair? Was J.P. infatuated with her? Was Nancy flattered by his attention? Did she marry Charlie for love or to escape the scandal?  Did Charlie marry her to protect her? I would like to believe Nancy and Charlie married for love and found happiness in Truro.

[1] According to the newspaper, Lou was having affairs with “lewd women of ill repute” in Chicago. The divorce papers reported Lou treated Nancy with extreme and repeated cruelty; beatings; threatening her with a gun; and using vile and abusive language and failing to provide proper and necessary clothing for Blanche and Nancy, Aurora Beacon News.
